This is one of the Super Emeralds from Sonic 3 & Knuckles made out of Perler beads. This one is so huge - yet again my biggest to date - that I needed eight pegboards. It took about 12 hours over two days.
Do you remember the days of magic? I do. I remember the last trick they performed, at least for a long time. When you put the cartridge into the slot on top of the other one, the whole world opened up. Those new paths you could take - nothing blew my mind more than the realization that they had been there all along, all those months between the releases.
However, just as much awe and wonder awaited in Mushroom Hill. Jump into the flashing ring; suddenly you were in a cavern, majestic, mysterious and huge. It took your emeralds, changing them into huge, drab grey things hanging heavily with the promise that it's now your job to color them in. These are the Super Emeralds, and the way I felt about games would never be the same.
Part of the magic, of course, was that I was a kid; kids are easy to impress. But though there are still kids, I'm not sure that there is magic like this anymore. Let's pause to remember it.
A moment of silence for the blissful ignorance that came with the Genesis equivalent of DLC....or maybe expansion packs. Whatever you call it, it blew our minds.
Faite un tour sur mes création aussi j'aime bien sonic !
