Earthworm Jim's Now a Blind Cave Salamander!

I made Earthworm Jim's blind cave salamander form (aka "Blind Sally") because Earthworm Jim 2 is a work of genius.

Generally, sequels are the safest thing a developer can do, and Earthworm Jim was a pretty popular IP at the time. There is nothing safe about Earthworm Jim 2, however. Everything it throws at you is another curveball of crazy creativity. Out of the whole game, I don't think there are more than three levels that you could call a "standard Earthworm Jim level."

Despite how bizarre the ideas in the game are, it's well-designed enough to draw you into this strange world. Thus, when the level title card informs you that Jim is now a blind cave salamander, you hardly bat an eye. Of course he is. You're more likely to wonder what he's doing swimming around in a giant digestive tract lined with deadly villi, or who exactly installed those neon signs and pinball bumpers.

So many games are content to present you with levels that just get the job done in a way you've seen before - fun, but forgettable. I can't imagine anybody forgetting this level.
